The Love List: 2015 colour trends
New Year, New you, New home, right?
Well maybe that’s a bit far but why not spruce up your “so 2014″ decor and jump on the 2015 trend wagon. I came across a delightful article by housebeautiful.com about their predictions of the must have colour schemes this year and below I have put together my top 3 loves.
1. Mediterranean Blue
Santorini, Greece
Blue tends to be a very calming, tranquile colour and surely that is exactly how everyone wants to start off their new year. This particular Mediterranean shade is a gorgeous splash of bold colour that looks fresh and exciting in any room. Blue 2066-10 Benjamin Moore is a great paint for this scheme.
2. Neutral Grey
Neutral Grey
Neutral and soft greys have been popular for a couple of years now and I really believe that they are here for the long haul. It’s a great base colour that so many other colours, patterns and textures work beautifully with. Pairing it with other neutrals like creams, whites or even varying shades of grey gives a scheme a soft and fresh feel. This French Grey Mid (162) from Little Greene is the perfect neutral grey.
3. Olive Green
Olive Green
I would most definitely never class myself as a green fan. I try to use it as little as possible, I’m not too sure why I dislike it so much but I just know that it doesn’t tend to work for me. This shade however is very easy on the eye, organic and rich and I am totally in love with it. Farrow & Ball’s Olive No. 13 would work wonderfully.

When Malibu meets Montpellier wine country
I recently came across this property in the Malibu area and it is just so quaint and lovable I couldn’t not share it. It’s like a little taste of France mixed with the cool laid back Malibu vibes, to create this perfect rustic retreat.

Dining in style
This dining room is so sleek. It was that fabulous light fitting that drew me to it originally but once I looked closer at it I completely fell in love with it.
Whether it is the combination of shapes or the elegance of the leathers soft colour palette against that rich wood, it’s just beautiful. Although one has to question just how practical a bench at a dining table can be, particularly if it was a full table (I can just picture the shuffling back in unison at a dinner party), I do love how there is a single chair along side the benches. It really separates it from other bench dining sets. And finally that soft roll edge of the table with the subtle curve of the top of the chairs works wonderfully.

The Perfect Annex
Don’t we all dream of a little annex we can transform into a wardrobe? Oh, well I do.
This is divine. I love the dark wood floor with the white wood clad walls, the beams over head and the rug on the floor make it feel much warmer and cozier. And do I even need to mention how snug that chair is? Oh and that shelf running above- Fab. Great for displaying things such as picture frames or simply using it as a bookshelf. A collection of old books on there would be a great touch. What would you do with the space?

Dazzling in the Kitchen
If there is one look within a home that I do love it’s a fabulous kitchen splash back. And oh my is this fab-u-lous.
This adds that extra special touch to a plain old monochrome kitchen whilst also drawing so much light in and reflecting it off around the room. That light fitting just completes the whole look, taking away from the cliche it could have been by adding such a beautiful industrial feature. Love, love, love.

The Leather Look
So I already completely crush on Rosie Huntington- Whiteley’s at the best of times, yet this woman in leather is unbelievable. Obviously I don’t have washboard abs nor legs up to my eyeballs but that doesn’t mean that I can’t jump on the leather wagon, right? Rosie however (we’re on a first name basis) can wear anything she damn well pleases, wobbly bits and price are no issue for her I’m sure of it. So I’ve searched high and low for some gorgeous pieces that are stylish and comfortable, on both purse and body for us “Average Joes”, no offence…
